The magical Mediterranean Island of Menorca (Minorca) has over 120 beaches, some of them being the most beautiful in Europe. Most are unspoiled and they are to be be found in every nook and cranny of the coastline of an island only 30 miles by 12. Some are long stretches of fine sand, others are sheltered bays or coves. The sea is of the clearest blue with an unmatchable clarity and with the most agreeable of temperatures which make it a paradise for water sports enthusiasts, or for those just lounging and chilling out.
During the year there is an average of 300 days of sunshine with an average of 5 hours a day in winter and more than 10 hours a day in summer.
For those interested in history and culture there is much to see and do, while for lovers of good food and wine there are some excellent local restaurants offering very reasonably priced meals and the waterside cave bars in Es Castell (5 min's drive from Son Vilar) enable you to soak up the atmosphere.
